Il western americano nella critica

Il western, nelle sue varie forme (letteratura, cinema, pittura, fumetti, serie televisive, ecc.), ha avuto dagli inizi del Novecento agli anni Settanta una fortuna straordinaria. Tuttavia la critica, in particolare quella letteraria, ha esitato a considerare il western come un oggetto degno di analisi. Questo saggio passa in rassegna le opere critiche principali sull’argomento e indica alcuni percorsi per future ricerche.
