Il Professor Carlos Muñoz è stato uno dei primi studiosi di gruppi etnici e chicani negli Stati Uniti. Nel 1968 ha fondato, presso la California State University di Los Angeles, il primo dipartimento di studi messicani del paese e la National Association of Chicana and Chicano Studies. È autore di numerosi studi all’avanguardia sull’esperienza politica messicano-americana e sulle coalizioni politiche africano-americane e latino-americane. Il suo libro Youth, Identity, Power, the Chicano movement ha vinto il prestigioso premio Gustavus Myers per lo studio dei diritti umani negli Stati Uniti.Downloads
