Leggere questa recensione di “The Art of Reading Italian Americana. Italian American Culture in Review” sarà un po’ come aprire una matrioska russa; si tratta quasi di una meta-recensione, in quanto il libro di Fred Gardaphé è esso stesso una raccolta di recensioni, con l’inclusione di qualche breve saggio. Le reviews raccolte nel volumetto sono il frutto della collaborazione dell’autore con la rivista italo-americana Fra Noi tra il 1995 e il 2005.
