Carla Francellini è professoressa associata di Letteratura Angloamericana presso l’Università di Siena, dove insegna anche Traduzione Letteraria nel Master in Traduzione letteraria e editing dei testi. La sua ricerca verte sulla narrativa di Herman Melville, Sylvia Plath, Marilyn Monroe, Richard Brautigan, Maria Mazziotti Gillan, Pietro di Donato e John Steinbeck, sulla letteratura italiana/americana, sui Translation e Adaptation Studies. Ha tradotto poesie e racconti, tra cui The Haunted House di Virginia Woolf, e ha curato diversi volumi: QAAWOWomen in Translation. Donne in Traduzione (2014), Re-Mapping Italian America. Places, Cultures, Identities (con Sabrina Vellucci, 2018), Miraggi italiani. Tony Ardizzone, Adria Bernardi, Paola Corso, Kenny Marotta (2019), Mother Cabrini. Riflessioni sulle migrazioni di ieri e di oggi (con Elisabetta Marino, 2023). È autrice della monografia Visible/Invisible. Incursioni nella narrativa italiana/americana contemporanea (2018).
